enamel paint<\/em><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Jesus punches banker.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The s<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">culpture<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> \u2018Jesus Punches a Banker\u2019, made after the financial crises, <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">uses a photocopy<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-GB\">of<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> the 14<sup>th<\/sup>-century fresco \u2018Expulsion of the money changers\u2019 by Giotto di Bondone \u2020. The fresco shows how Jesus chases the money changers out of the temple. It is so old that some of the image <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">has<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> faded, <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">including<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> the whip of Jesus, which leaves him with only <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">a clenched fist<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Dobrowolski<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> explains it as: \u201c<em>Essentially Jesus <\/em><\/span><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">looks like he\u2019s about to punch<\/span><\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> a banker<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">.\u00a0<em>The building is the <\/em><\/span><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">workshop<\/span><\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> for the \u2018Men in Sheds\u2019 project in Barnsley (<\/span><\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">An industrial city in the North of the England)<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> <em>where I made it. The man who turns the handle is one of <\/em><\/span><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">the<\/span><\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> friends <\/span><\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">I made whilst on an artist\u2019s residency there<\/span><\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Chris\u2019 work has an intentional \u2018<\/span><\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">knocked<\/span><\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> up in a garden shed\u2019 aesthetic. <\/span><\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Always working from personal experience often his work<\/span><\/em> <em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">has a <\/span><\/em><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">story attached. <\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Over the years he has told these stories both as an artist, teacher <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">and on stage as a performer. His <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">p<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">erformances translate the experience of creating and testing a theory. This in turn allows an audience to share and participate in a journey of discovery.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0\u2018Jesus Punches a Banker\u2019 is a <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">subversive play on the traditional \u2018Whirligig\u2019- A kinetic folk art genre that has its origins in the USA.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">This work is on
