Art in Oisterwijk 2022
From 3 to 26 June, the historic center of Oisterwijk will be transformed into a colourful, surprising and inspiring open-air museum: in that period the 2nd edition of Art in Oisterwijk will take place. A free art festival for young and old, where 35 artists from 12 different countries exhibit a total of 50 images. The theme of this edition is ‘Talk to me’.
Art in Oisterwijk (AiO) is a museum in a public space, in the heart of the beautiful, green center of Oisterwijk. Our motto is ’the highest quality with the lowest barrier’. AiO wants to make art accessible to everyone. In combination with appealing peripheral programming, AiO is grows into a true art festival for young and old.
Talk to me
The highest quality with the lowest barrier. That is Art in Oisterwijk. 35 famous artists from 12 different countries exhibit a total of 50 images, which can be viewed day and night for a period of 3 weeks at the Lind in Oisterwijk.
The theme of this edition is ‘Talk to me. AiO wants to use art as a way to connect people by enticing visitors into a conversation. Well-known artists such as Tony Cragg, Ilya Kabakov, Bernar Venet, Nick Ervinck, David Černý, Sean Henry and Geert Koevoets exhibit striking, sometimes controversial, works of art that undoubtedly provoke a fascinating conversation.
“We are very proud that we have been able to contract so many great artists for Art in Oisterwijk. We hope to surprise people with the artworks, the intimate atmosphere and the varied side programming.”
Festival director Bert Huls

Art foundation in Oisterwijk
In 2017 the 1st edition of Art in Oisterwijk took place. This attracted more than 150,000 visitors in a period of 2.5 weeks. The positive feedback from visitors, press, residents and many entrepreneurs in the immediate vicinity has enthused the Art in Oisterwijk Foundation to further develop the art festival into a biennial event. Unfortunately there was corona. This year we are back, better than ever.
The Art in Oisterwijk foundation was established in Oisterwijk in 2016 at the initiative of landscape architect Bert Huls. The foundation has an active day-to-day management consisting of:
- drs. A.L.M. Nelissen – chairman
- mr. E.P.G. Kamps – secretary
- F.J. Tabbers – treasurer
- H.A.M.G. van Laarhoven – general board member
- F. Eerhart – general board member
As festival director, Bert Huls is responsible for the realization of the festival.
