THE ART OF GIBBERISH

Michael Nolta

street art

Michael Nolta, also known under the pseudonym ‘Nolart’ is a Dutch street art artist who works internationally on invitations for street art festivals or on other commissions. Over the years, Michael Nolta has developed his own iconic style that has been described as ‘bubbly’. Everything he creates looks alive, and very round it looks like it has been blown up. To match his aesthetic Nolta has created his own creatures looking like living balloons. Attractive figures, mostly in shades of pink and blue are the artist his favorite colors. His images portray their own world and language, and however abstract they are, they speak to you: almost literally.

In addition to his work on canvas, he likes to work on exterior walls. His wall art can be found in many different countries such as Vietnam, Ireland, England, Germany, Belgium, and of course the Netherlands. Nolta his main goal is to bring joy to people through his work. Especially for Art in Oisterwijk, he painted the information booth with the title ‘The Art of Gibberish’. This is a subtle reference to the gibberish his creatures use to engage in conversation with the viewer.
